分析
This is the second period of this unit. Teacher first lets students review what they have learned last period, and then lets students know some famous quotations to lead in the new lesson. The emphasis of this period will be placed on the important words, expressions and sentence patterns in the reading text. In order to make students understand these points, teacher can first get students to study the usages themselves and try to make a summary according to the examples, and then try to put them into use to improve the ability to use them in a real situation. At the end of the class teacher can make students use what they have learned as much as possible to express themselves. By doing so, students can learn and use these important language points well.

Give five sentences with some blanks and ask students to guess the underlined words meaning from the context,then fill in the blanks with its derived word. PPT8-10

This part maybe a little difficult. The teacher can divide the whole class into several groups,if they can not do the exercises ,they can do it  in groups.

Discussion:In pairs, discuss how people can achieve success, using words and expressions you have learnt in this unit.
Everybody is eager to be a successful person in his life. But not all people can always succeed. People who are lazy and want to succeed only by daydreaming can hardly succeed. A successful person must possess some good characters, such as diligence, strong will, perseverance, etc. He must keep on learning and make himself a capable person. Sometimes he should be more flexible to change with the situations. All in all, serf-confidence is the first step on the road to success. And hard work is the key element of success.
  • Students can use what they have learned in the reading passage to guess the words’ meaning from the context.
  • Students can do it individually or in groups.
  • While doing the exercises, students can have a race to see who can or which group can give as many cognate words as possible.
Students first read the passage about Lu Xun, then fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in the box.
This part is very  important, students can  have a discussion with each other or in groups.
Students can do some Chinese-English translation to be more familiar with the meaning and usage of these phrases,then do the following exercises with the proper form.
Students translate the sentences into Chinese, pay attention to the structure of the sentence patterns and learn to analyse them.
To discuss how people can achieve success, using words and expressions you have learnt in this unit.
