Are you worried about moving up to senior high school? It can be a new experience, but you shouldn't worry. We've put together a guide on how to survive the first week.
You're not alone!
Remember, everybody__else__in__your__year__is__on__the__same__boat.They may not realize it,but they're just as nervous as you are.Moving to senior high school is an opportunity, not a problem.Things are different and all you need to do is be polite and learn the new rules.
Teachers are ready to help!
If you are unsure what to do or are worried about anything, then you had better ask for help.Teachers are probably the best people to turn to as they're experienced in helping new students. Some senior high schools also have a “friends system”.If your school has this, then you will be paired with an older student. They will look out for you and help you if you have any problems or questions.
All change.
There are lots of differences between junior high school and senior high school. You will have a homework diary or a student planner. You will have your lessons with different teachers in different rooms. You will have homework for different subjects on different days. So make sure you get organized.Make sure you have a copy of your school timetable written down so you know which rooms your classes are in and on which days you will have your different subjects.
Other points
If you've got an elder brother or sister at the school then ask them for advice.
Be yourself! It sounds simple, but people will know you much better if you just act naturally.
Having early nights makes a difference and you'll find it easier to get up in the morning!

A.Other students have similar feelings to yours.

D.Other students will teach you politeness and new rules.
22Why could the new students turn to teachers first when having problems?
ABecause teachers won't blame them as parents do.

DBecause parents are too busy to help them.
23What's the purpose of the passage?
ATo tell students the importance of learning.

Why do most of us always live our life caring what people might say or think? Some of the decisions we made are just to please the outside world around us. I have always lived life pleasing the ever overdemanding society. This had a great effect on my search for authenticity(真实性). I only felt good enough when people paid attention to me. So I would frequently do things to catch people's eye instead of placing__emphasis__on what really matters to me.
A recent experience changed my view. I had been looking for a tailor to mend some of my clothes. With the help of a few friends, I found one, who just so happened to go to the same gym as me. As we chatted, he shared his story and his use of drugs for muscle development with me. In his words, he weighed over 240 pounds and was the envy of a lot of people. So many people wanted to be like him and have body like his, which made him use more drugs.
But within two years something happened. He began to have problems with his liver. The doctor advised him to stop using drugs and give up lifting heavy weights for a while. This was a hard decision because he had got so used to the attention from people. He didn't want to give that up; who would? Right? That was it. He made me understand how he lived his life for people. He lost sight of what was best for him.
He told me not to live life thinking about too much what people think, feel, or say.Instead, live life with meaning. His story really has an effect on me. I have to look at my life to see what I do.I am not saying we shouldn't take the advice of others into consideration, but we must work hard for continuous selfawareness. If we can know what we're doing and why we're doing it, we can realize just how important that thing is to us.

25.Why did the tailor use drugs?
A.To lose weight.
B.To keep healthy.

26Why was the tailor unwilling to accept the doctor's suggestion?
AHe was afraid of losing others' admiration.
BHe ignored the seriousness of the disease.
CHe wanted to live a simple and easy life.
DHe needed weightlifting to keep healthy.
27.What lesson does the passage mainly tell us?
A.We should live life to the fullest.
B.Being open to others's advice is important.
C.We should know ourselves and live for ourselves.
D.Nothing is more important than good health in our life.

One of the most popular street food found in China is no doubt the barbecue(烧烤). A new series, called Chinese Barbecue, tells the story of this popular food cooked over hot coals, on just about every street corner in cities and towns across the country. Barbecued meat is an important part of people's nightlife.
Shown on June 20, the series has had more than 80 million clicks on the video site bilibili.com. To find the most popular barbecue stalls(摊位),the production team travelled to more than 500 locations in 30 cities across the country. Some viewers compare Chinese Barbecue to Midnight Diner, a Japanese TV series telling stories from latenight informal Japanese bars.
I'm happy to hear this comparison because Midnight Diner is a good program, and we share the same topic—night food, Chinese Barbecue's director Chen Yingjie said.“However, in terms of the tone, they are quite different.” He said that Midnight Diner focused more on food itself, though there was some conversation while people were eating. In contrast, the night food scene of Chinese people means joy and a more lively spirit. People eating these barbecue snacks develop a feeling of connection, which can be a cure for loneliness.
The barbecue, regarded as the most ordinary and common night street snack, is different from homemade food by mothers as that is a symbol of family and kinship. The barbecue is where you go to become connected to people in society. And unlike official business lunches, during which people are rather reserved and polite, the barbecue lets people relax with old friends and new friends, leaving a lasting impression of friendship.
The world, as a whole, holds deeprooted good feelings toward the barbecue, either for the taste or the warmth produced by fire. What we should do is to present the Chinese barbecue just the way it is because with its special ingredients(食材), ways of cooking, and more importantly, the special environment and people, the world will recognize it and might fall in love with it just as we do. said Chen.
28.What does Chinese Barbecue center on?
A.The diverse street food.
B.The nightlife in large cities.
C.The barbecued foods across China.
D.The story of barbecue stalls owners.
29.How does Chinese Barbecue differ from Midnight Diner?
A.It focuses more on the diners.
B.It has less conversation.
C.It shows the eating habits.
D.It targets at the lonely.
30.What can be inferred about the barbecue from paragraph 4?
A.It influences people's lifestyle.
B.It plays a role in people's relationship.
C.It is more delicious than homemade food.
D.It serves as formal business lunches sometimes.
31.Why did Chen Yingjie choose the barbecue as the topic of the series?
A.To help the world understand China.
B.To research a special way of cooking.
C.To show the feature of Chinese food.
D.To introduce the history of the barbecue.

Though juice was once a cornerstone of a balanced breakfast, its place at the table has been a bit uncertain these days. Concerns over extra sugar and calories have led many parents to stop buying it—especially after a 2017 recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), which said juice provides no nutritional(营养的) benefit to babies before their first birthday. Even older kids should limit their intake to reduce the risk of weight gain and bad teeth, according to the AAP.
But is a glass of orange juice really a big deal? While limiting sugar and calorie consumption (卡路里消耗) is important, Dr.Wanda Abreu, working at NewYorkPresbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, says the issue is more about what juice often replaces. Kids are “better off just eating fruits”, she says.
Juice contains the same vitamins and natural sugar found in the whole fruit but lacks the fiber that aids healthy digestion (消化),Abreu explains. As a result, juice is less filling and easier to overconsume than real fruits, and it delivers a large amount of sugar straight to the bloodstream—all of which can lead to weight gain. Besides, if young kids drink juice all day, their teeth will be covered with sugar that causes bad teeth, the AAP says.
If buying fresh fruits is too costly or inconvenient, Dr. Matt Haemer, a nutrition expert at Children's Hospital Colorado, recommends offering frozen or unsweetened canned fruits instead of juice. It's about establishing a behavioral pattern and attempting to improve what we have currently: a phenomenon of children growing up in our country for whom it's uncommon to eat fruits and vegetables he says.
Still, Abreu says parents shouldn't feel guilty if their kids drink the occasional glass of juice. Parents should look for 100% fruit juice, not“fruit drinks”,which typically contain added sugar on top of those found naturally in fruits. And the AAP offers recommendations by age: no juice at all for babies;no more than 4 oz per day for toddlers; up to 6 oz per day for kids aged 4 to 6; and up to 8 oz per day for older kids.
32.What's the first paragraph mainly about?
A.The wide popularity of juice.
B.The possible dangers of juice.
C.Concerns over sugar and calories.
D.Ways to limit the intake of juice.
33.What can we learn about juice from paragraph 3?
A.It tends to be drunk too much.
B.It contains fewer vitamins.
C.It has less natural sugar.
D.It promotes healthy digestion.
34.Which is commonly seen in children from Dr.Matt Haemer's country?
A.They enjoy canned fruits.
B.They grow up with sugar.
C.They prefer sweetened frozen fruits.
D.They have fewer fruits and vegetables.
35.For whom is the passage most probably written?
A.Children.         B.Nutritionists.
C.Drink producers.         D.Parents.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面的短文根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
There's a big difference between working hard and being a workaholic. Working hard involves being organized, focused, getting a lot of work done, knowing when to stop, and having a life other than work. Workaholics, on the other hand, live entirely for work. They are often disorganized, always find reasons for working more, don't know how or when to relax, and can't communicate with family members.
Workaholics, like those who are constantly drunk, suffer from a controlling habit, partly because they are always full of enthusiasm for work, feeling lost without work to do. Besides, they sometimes develop their pattern of behaviour due to the environment they are in. Many companies encourage workaholism by rewarding loyal employees with higher pay and better benefits. Those unwilling to burn the midnight oil are at risk.
According to some psychologists, workaholism can be good for people to some extent. It can fuel a sense of selfworth and achievement. They get paid for it and praised for it, which produces good feelings they may not necessarily be able to obtain in other parts of their lives. Workaholism, though, is a problem that has been around for years. With competition rising these days, people ate under more stress. However, workaholics can't stand not being active. They find it hard to go on vacation. They're more comfortable being with fellow workers than with family and friends. Of course there is nothing wrong with their commitment, ambition and energy. But what is wrong is that these things often came in at a high price to their health and the happiness of their families.
To be a healthy person physically and psychologically, one should lead a balanced life. Those little things—reading mystery novels, playing volleyball, spending time with family and friends, playing with the dog, going fishing—mean a healthy end. They can be at least as rewarding as work.
