教材分析
本课语篇为两段对话，谈论崇敬的人和崇敬他们的原因，包括他们的职业，做的事和品质。同时引导学生利用语言支架谈论自己崇敬的人和理由，并针对一些名人名言谈论自己的理解。
教学目标
在本课学习结束时，学生能够：
1. 听懂语篇大意。
2. 提取语篇中的关键词并运用。
3. 思考探索主题意义，为后续阅读做准备。

教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
1. Who is a person you admire?
2. Why do you admire him/her?
设计意图：创设情境，引入主题，铺垫语言。
Step 2 Talking
Use the diagram to discuss the person you admire.
1. What are some common careers?
2. What things do these professionals do?
3. What are the qualities of admirable people? Learn the examples of a famous scientist, a famous writer, and a famous entrepreneur.
设计意图：利用语言支架，进行拓展知识学习。
Step 3 Listening
1. What are the people in the dialogue talking about?
2. Who is an admirable person in Jenny’s mind?
设计意图：基于主题引导学生获取初步信息，导出核心内容。
Step 4 Writing
1. Write about an admirable person in your mind.
2. Introduce the outline of an expository essay.
3. Share your writing with the class.
设计意图：借助口头表达，梳理说明文结构。
Step 5 Discussion
Talk about quotes from famous admirable people reflecting their understanding of life.
设计意图：凝练升华语言，拓宽眼界。
