1.overcome
overcome作动词,意为“克服;战胜”,其过去式和过去分词分别为overcame和overcome。

2.make a mess
make a mess意为“弄得一团糟(一塌糊涂)”,mess在此处意为“混乱;凌乱状态”。
例句:I have made a big mess at their wedding.我把他们的婚礼弄得一团糟。
You can make cookies if you promise not to make a mess in the kitchen. 如果你答应不把厨房弄得一塌糊涂,你可以做饼干。
拓展:in a mess意为“一团糟;乱七八糟”,作状语。
The thief left the house in a mess. 小偷把房间弄得乱七八糟。
3.It's time…句型,意为“该是……的时候了”。其用法归纳如下:
(1)It's time (for sb.) to do sth.意为“该是(某人)做某事的时候了”。
例句:It's time to go to school. 该去上学了。
It's time for you to clean the classroom. 该是你打扫教室的时候了。
(2)It’s time for + n.意为“该是(做)……的时候了”。
例句:Boys and girls, it’s time for class. 同学们,该上课了。
