2. Show a calendar and say, Saturday and Sunday are the weekends. This is last weekend. Then tell some things you did last weekend such as, cleaned my house, did my homework, went to the cinema ...
Step 2 Presentation and Practice
Task 1
1.Ask students to look at the pictures and tell what they see.
2.Name each activity and ask students to repeat: did my homework, went to the cinema, went boating, camped by the lake, went to the beach, played badminton.
3. Ask students to match each activity with the pictures.
4. Check the answers.
Task 2 Listening (1b)
1.Point to the activities in the picture. Ask students to tell what the person did in each picture. For example, She played badminton, or Lucy went to the cinema.
2.Play the recording for the students listen, and ask them to write the days and time Lucy did each thing under the pictures.
3.Correct the answers.
Task 3 Practice ( 1c )
1. Ask students to practice the conversations in pairs.
2. Encourage Ss to make new conversations with their classmates.
3.Invite some pairs to role-play their conversations for the class.

Step 1 Lead in
1. Greet the class and check the homework.
2. Play an English song.
Step 2 Presentation and Practice
1.The teacher shows the photo of butterflies, and ask the following questions.
  1).What’s the name of the insect?
  2).Where can we find it besides the nature?
  3). What is its living habits?
If you want to answer all the questions correctly, please go through the dialog 2d on Page68
1. Ask Ss to look at conversation in 2d and have them find the answer to 3 questions:
2.Read the dialogue by themselves
3. Have the Ss work in pairs and role-play the conversations.
4. Have several pairs perform their conversations for the rest of the class.        
5.Language points.
1)I worked as a guide at the Natural History Museum.

“work as + 职业” 意为“做某工作”。
  埃里克在那家俱乐部里做音乐老师的工作。 Eric works as a music teacher in the club
2)How interesting! 多么有趣啊!这是一个感叹句
句子结构为:How + 形容词或副词 + (主语 + 谓语)!
那本书太有趣了! How interesting the book is!  
3)stay up 意为“熬夜;深夜不眠” 。
    不要熬夜,这对你的健康不好。 Don’t stay up late. It’s bad for your health.  
    咱们别睡觉,迎接新年的到来吧。 Let’s stay up to see the New Year.
Step 3 Consolidation
1.Ask student to read the Grammar Focus first. And thenlet them pay attention to the structure “wh” questions. Then ask several pairs of students to do some oral practice using “wh questions”
2.Ask students to finish the sentences in pairs. Then let students make up new conversations according to the sentences in 3a. At last get Ss to practice the conversations in pairs.
3.Have Ss use the words in 3b to complete the passage.Then ask Ss to read their work and check the answers.
Step 4 Summary  (3c)
1. Ask a student to draw two pictures about his or her last weekend on the blackboard. Class members guess the correct past tense sentences.
2.Then write wh- words on the board (who, what, where, when, why, how) and encourage students to ask follow-up questions, for example, Who did you play tennis with?

1). two weeks ago 两星期前,一段时间 + ago意为“多长时间之前”,是表达过去的时间。它常与一般过去时态连用。
   三天前,我们参观了自然历史博物馆。
   We visited the Natural History Museum three days ago.  
【辨析】before 意为“在……之前”,
其后可以跟一个时间的点;表示“在某个时间点之前”,但不一定用于一般过去时态。例如:
    我常在七点钟前去上学。
    I usually go to school before seven.   
    此外,before也可以单独用,意为“以前”,可用于一般过去时态中。例如:
以前我不知道那件事情。
I didn’t know that before.  
2). put up 意为“搭起;举起”
让我们将帐篷搭起来吧。   Let’s put up the tent.
如果你有问题请举起手来。If you have any questions, please put up your hands.
put构成的短语:put on穿上、戴上,   put off推迟、推延, put away把....收起来
3). I was so tired that I went to sleep early.
我太疲劳了,以至于早早就睡觉了。
句式结构“so + 形容词 + that … ”,意为 “如此……以至于”
李老师的课如此有趣,以至于我们都喜欢他的课。
Mr. Li’s classes are so fun that we all  love his classes.
Paul is so lazy that he doesn’t go to work.
“so…that”可以和“too…to…”句式结构互换同义句。例如:
Paul is too lazy to go to work.
4).wake up 唤醒; 后面可以跟名词或代词; 跟名词时可以放在wake up的后面或中间; 但是如果是跟代词的话应放于 wake up 的中间。如:
早上你常什么时候醒来?
    When do you usually wake up?
    不要如此大声说话,你会将他们吵醒。
    Don’t speak so loud. You’ll wake them up.
5).see/watch/feel/hear sb. doing sth.     看到/观察到/觉得/听到某人在做某事
    我们能听到水从山上流下来的声音。
    We can hear water running from the mountain.
