本节课是这个单元的第三个课时，主要讲述了贝多芬的生平以及他创作贝多芬第九交响曲的经历，在使学生感受音乐美的同时，学习艺术家贝多芬面对困难不放弃的精神。

• 语言技能目标：
  

（1）能够用所学单词，句子谈论贝多芬及其第九交响曲
（2）能够在了解文章大意的基础上完成所给任务
   2. 语言知识目标：
（1）能够正确运用以下单词：genius, composer, struggle, respond, hesitate, tense, backstage等
（2）学习并且练习Word building
3. 文化意识目标：能够欣赏艺术之美
4.情感态度目标：
（1）理解，热爱艺术
（2）学习艺术家面对困难时不放弃的精神  


重点：
1. 用书中所学知识介绍贝多芬及其第九交响曲。

• 锻炼总结信息的能力。
  

• 锻炼学生通过word building来记住更多词的能力。
  

难点：
1.能用地道的语言介绍贝多芬及其第九交响曲。
2.能提升总结信息的能力。

教学步骤	教学活动	设计意图
Step I Warming up and lead in	1.let students enjoy a video and guess who is the composer of the music?	先用同学们熟知的贝多芬的命运交响曲引出本课主题，引起学生兴趣。
Step 2 Pre-reading	Activate and share Asks students what they know about Ludwig van Beethoven and lets students complete the quiz on P14	让学生根据自己平时对贝多芬的认知完成测试。激发学生验证答案的兴趣，为之后快速阅读检测答案做准备。
Step 3 Fast-reading	Asks Ss to scan the story about Beethoven and answer the questions on P14	通过跳读了解贝多芬的大致信息。
Step 4 Deep-reading	Read the skill builder first. Asks Ss to read the story by themselves and add details to the diagram. Encourage Ss to share their answer in the skill builder that they read at beginning. Take notes and answer questions. Ask students to read independently and find the answer by themselves. Ask volunteer to answer the questions. Ask others to add information to complete the task. Pair work: choose a topic to introduce to your partner. Students choose a topic and list information on that topic. Using those ideas and the discussed vocabularies to write at least five sentences. In pairs, students read sentences to their partners. Group work: Think and share Divide Ss into groups to answer the questions and provide logical reasoning. Discuss the answers in class. Complete the sentences with the phrase in the chart. Ss discuss the difficult words and phrases in class. T encourages Ss to finish the sentences independently. T asks some students to explain their answer to whole class.	引导学生运用Graphic Organizer 进一步的了解文章的文体以及关于第九交响曲的作曲以及表演中的细节。 让学生自主阅读寻找答案，培养学生独立思考的能力。 学生选择话题并列出相关话题信息，之后写成五个句子，让学生回顾学到知识同时将知识灵活运用。 锻炼学生寻找细节的能力。 将学到的短语运用到句子中。
Step 5 Focus on language	Complete the word builder on P17 independently Use the dictionary to assist with completing the table. Meanwhile, asks students how did the words change. Complete the sentence with the words in words builder. Ss discuss the difficult words in sentences. Remind Ss to pay attention to the words form and transformation。 Check the answer and analyze the reasons. Which part of the story impressed you most and why? Works in groups, Ss discuss what impressed them most and why? Encourage students to show their feelings to whole class.	让学生掌握一些词性转换的基本规律。 为做语篇填空题打好基础 让学生了解到艺术家创作的不易，并积极学习他们不放弃的精神。
